These are baby goats and ridiculously adorable. GY is year round- outside when it's nice and inside the barn when it's cool or raining. We also sell ADGA registered Dwarf Nigerian adults and kidds when they have graduated Yoga and are 4-5 months old. Email for availability and more info.

The Smithshyre was born out of the mantra, “Be the change.”  Disenfranchised by the state of the current food system, we chose a different path, one of clean food and happy animals. All our animals are pasture-raised, fed raw organic feed and wormed herbally.

Our mission is simple, to help our community fall in love with agriculture so they will support it and protect it. Our goal is a seven-layer permaculture forest farm including fruit & nut trees, berries, herbs down to mushrooms – someday. We practice restorative agriculture, make our own compost and follow organic standards. Our produce is grown from open-pollinated, heirloom, organic seeds and never treated with chemicals. We offer “agritourism” in the form of farm tours, special events, and Goat Yoga.

While non-certified organic, we do consider ourselves an “actually organic homestead.” We really love what we do and we want to share it with our community.

Farm Practices

As an non-certified organic homestead we follow organic guidelines. Our compost is made onsite. All our produce is grown from seeds that are certified organic with a focus on heirloom and open-pollinated varieties. We believe in restorative agriculture and have a goal of a seven layer permaculture forest farm. All of our animals are pastured and fed raw, organic feed. Our goat kidds are socialized by humans, not bottles, resulting in kidds who truly want to be around you. Our mission is to have a happy farm full of love and good health.
