A traditional family farm since the late 1800’s, Pheasant Fields Farm was originally an egg farm during a time when Kitsap County was the egg capital of the world. Yes, that’s a true fact!
The farm was converted to vegetable and pumpkin production at the beginning of 2000 and today it grows a wide variety of produce. Recognizing the diminishing number of family farms and opportunities for the public to see a real working farm, we opened our farm to the public 20 years ago. Hundreds of school-aged children visit our farm annually during seeding time and through the harvest months of the season to see how and where vegetables are grown.
We believe everyone should learn how to grow food and experience eating fresh locally produced crops as much as they desire. We offer reasonably priced vegetable plant starts early spring and summer to encourage that activity.
We are extremely pleased to be a farmer-member of the online farmer’s market cooperative, KitsapFresh.org where the public has the ability to source local food products 51 weeks out of every year!
